High School Abroad in Canada: Safety and Support
Eligibility
✔ Age: 15–17 years old at the time of arrival
✔ Language Skills: At least two years of prior English study
✔ Personal Qualities: Maturity, independence, and some experience living away from home
✔ Cultural Interest: Genuine curiosity about learning a new language and discovering another culture
✔ Family Life: Willingness to actively participate in the daily routines of a host family
✔ Attitude: Openness, flexibility, and adaptability to thrive in both school and homestay environments
Nacel Canada's priorities are the safety and the well-being of the students.
Medical insurance
A medical insurance policy for a maximum of €500,000 is provided. All the information regarding the insurance, the details of the coverage, and the emergency phone number will be provided. Participants also have a third-party liability insurance policy for a maximum of €4,500,000.
Support and assistance
Throughout their stay, participants receive continuous support from both their local representative and Nacel Canada’s head office. The local representative maintains regular contact through monthly visits and/or phone calls to monitor each student’s experience and academic progress.
After every follow-up, parents receive copies of the written reports for full transparency. In addition, during the first monthly home visit, the representative carefully reviews all program policies and procedures with both the student and the host family to ensure a smooth and positive experience.
